The Unsung Gem

Let's not go the long way. I am about to write a short personal perspective about a man I am coming across.

He is Mr Sonam Tobgay aka Sotey. A surveyor by calling. I am witnessing a huge brilliance, determination and professional views not just in my eyes but from others judgement too.

He have a way of keeping the perfect rapport with the engineers, machine operators and all others who are to be dealt in his profession.

Well we were to built a small canal for the monsoon streams. Engineers were hit hard as they couldn't make the machine operator understand their plan. And the canal was naive in a way appeared natural and unplanned. And this man Sotey comes in, explains the drawings of the map in a most simple way and now the canal is on it's way to align just as it is in the map.

Prior his step in. A site engineer was complaining, it's a headache. And after Soteys easy maneuvers, Sotey was telling himself and I eavesdrop. "This is a piece of cake. They have built Panama canal and Suez. Where are we?

And this is not just himself nor me. It's for all Bhutanese who must ask where are we? Yes they have built Panama and Suez canals and we are stuck in this small monsoon canal.

This man I am writing about is really the unsung gem of our country. Many exist in our country doing their job as smartly as they can. We can't afford to lose such gems. Note that there is impending threats like "leaving for Australia" kind. 

He grooms unemployed to survey, he has data saved in his head, he cares his helpers, he works for the greater good( he does Over Time albeit he know he is not going to be paid for it) and he is the unsung gem.

She felt in love with the Prisoner

 His friends talked about their loved woman in their life. He stood silent and one of them asked Joy. Joy do u hav any woman in your life? 

That was a time when my wife abandoned me and I was helpless. I have been chatting in facebook with this Jamyang girl for long. And I lied to her from head to toe. One time i thought it's getting too deep and decided to confess. I said I was an ex convict. That I used to be a alcoholic and druggist. I gamble huge. I was unfaithful to my wife. I used violence against my ex wife and girlfriends. That my family nearly disowned me and friends have already ignored my calls. 

I was hell sure this Jamyang girl would unfriend me or wouldn't see that angle I wished. For who wouldn't? I was done. For the first time I felt relieved after telling a truth. 

Next day she started chatting with me again. Yeah this Jamyang girl. As though nothing occurred. After certain chats I asked do u feel same for me? And my mind was what NOW??

She says we wil go ahead. We will try to mend everything and once just once u fail again and that's it. No drinks no drugs nothing from ur past. Just the new future. 

And I was like really?? ..that's all I need. For i hav decided to transform..to improve and that's all I need. She had helped me in regaining my mental health, and in many others way reminded me I am very special all when the world hav stopped looking at me.

His friends were astounded, some believed Joy cooked up the story and some were like "that's like in the movie mate" and rest were like "does such woman still really exist? 

 This story could only end in two ways either she leaves him or she changes her mind.

But that's in stars, for now, to this day Joy still contacts her....👇👇
